This is one of the most important minerals for the human body. Gathered primarily in cells like potassium (and not in liquids like sodium, for example), it activates over 300 different enzymes and helps in the proper functioning of the nervous system. Commonly associated with the occurrence of cramps. Lack of magnesium in the body increases nervous tension. Magnesium helps in maintaining healthy bones, teeth, normal psychological functions and maintaining electrolyte balance.

WOBASZ* examination has shown that the diet of Poles is low in magnesium – both for women and men.

Magnesium deficiency is most often diagnosed in people who use a low-calorie diet and eat processed foods with a lot of preservatives, phosphates, fibre and phytates. Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and nervous system fatigue also exacerbate the deficiencies of this mineral. Magnesium supplementation is recommended for people with kidney diseases and those taking certain medications (e.g. contraception, psychotropic, sleeping pills). Drinking small quantities of mineral water can cause a deficiency of magnesium.
